The Rev. Dr. Don Weaver (arrow) served as Worship Leader for the last service of the "closed" 2020 season. The official services were cancelled along with many other gatherings of this Covid-19 year. Nevertheless people showed up to worship and keeping it in-house (SLI only) met the requirements of the SLI Trustees to hold down the size and variation of groups for safety sake.
A hotter than usual summer ushered in a set of very cool nights for September. As a result the folks that came to worship seated themselves on the sunny side of the Heritage Walkway (north). The memorial brick walkway can be seen in the foreground. The arrow indicates the position of the Leader to the group. Other unofficial activities were for neighborly and fellowship purposes such as the gatherings for sunset and Wednesday evenings on the green. There was also a patriotic sing-along on July 4th and this Labor Day Monday (Sept. 7th) the SLI program committee is hosting an "Old Hippies Concert" at 1:00 pm at Asbury's Sun Deck (Dock) which will be broadcast on 91.9 FM radio.
