Parking Area next to Hoag Memorial
Silver Lake Institute President Bill Schaefer has been talking to RGE since early last Fall and managed to get a commitment from them that their work to replace a 1913 gas line would be started early in the Spring and wrapped up shortly after in order to avoid Memorial Day Weekend and the Opening of the Season. The line runs parallel to Lakeview Avenue on the higher section of "The Green." RGE began their work in the parking area next to Hoag which is where their earth mover is now located with their storage bin next to it on the Lake side. It is our understanding that the folks east of Perry Ave. will not be affected by this work since their gas line was replaced in the 1980s. The third (bottom) photo was taken north of the RGE equipment but not far as can be seen the rear view mirror (bottom right). Temperatures made it into the 60s (80 in the sun and out of the breeze, as reported by a Wesley Ave. resident). gf
