Twenty residents came out for yesterday's Sunday morning devotional at 10:30 am to hear retired minister, Don Weaver share from his extensive travel and experiences. These informal times together began the first Sunday of Silver Lake Institute's "closed season." They began rather spontaneously as people gathered together out of personal desire and no publicity to be together, reflect, and be uplifted by the spiritual side of life.
After the first spontaneous gathering, the Spiritual Life Committee specifically began discussing these informal gatherings and assisted in their continued succession. Many enjoyed their informal nature and the brevity of their content. Several were just 20 minutes in duration, others longer. These times together seem to fit the uniqueness of the 2020 season--the year the Covid-19 so profoundly affected Silver Lake and all aspects of life in our beloved country.
