Postmaster General Confirms to Senate Sufficient Cash for Ontime Delivery of all Ballots mailed a week in advance

During the Senate Hearing conducted this morning, Post Master General Louis DeJoy was asked if he had sufficient funds to complete the process of returning all ballots to their addressed locations on time. He responded that he did in fact have adequate funds through Election Day. He added that Election mail will be handled as first class mail and given priority.

The hearing went well and appeared to be fair all the way through until the closing statement made by the committee chairperson, Ron Johnson, who concluded that the "run of complaints" is the fault of a political hit job being done by the Democrats, although he provided no concrete evidence for his opinion. The ranking member attempted to confirm what he identified as legitimate complaints which are not politically manufactured.

The chair responded to the ranking member by blaming Democrats once again for complaints that appeared to be "highly scripted" and said "there is no doubt" of Democratic involvement, but provided no evidence for his insistence. The president of the postal union highly disputes that the complaints are anything but legitimate complaints and charges of anything else is an insult to postal delivery persons.

Senator Jacky Rosen (D Nevada) said that conditions on the ground did not match what the Postmaster General was describing. She said mail is piling up and the elimination of overtime is not permitting delivery persons to return to the route to deliver the rest of the mail for that day. Video clips of undelivered mail played in the background. The House Hearing is scheduled for Monday.
