Winter Survivor Planning Committee to Evaluate Party at a Feb. 16th meeting with a View to Next Year's Early Plans

The table game of "Spoons" was used for all tables and the  game turned out to be a resounding success. It was a test of things to do and which ones will be popular for the Winter Survivors. The committee invited representatives from the Perry Main St. Association so that we could learn more about the progress of the re-birth of one of the last set of historical Main St. shops being refurbished to their classical beauty except for their modern interiors. Their accounts were of great interest to the Winter Survivors.

The subject of fun things to do will be raised in the evaluation as will the possibility of other guests who may be able to stimulate like interest, or even to bring another update of the same subject. The committee also looks forward to discussing the expansion of advertising to include a "family friendly" designation. Another discussion will be had on the subject of officially opening the party to all residents of SLI since the draw on "year-round" residents has been more minimal than anticipated. The committee was excited to hear that Linda Peet will be returning to the committee for 2019 in preparation for the 2020 winter event.

The question of whether or not to include supporters of SLI programs such as concert attendees or those who make cash contributions toward SLI projects such as the expansive SLI Barbecue of 2016 which drew funds and people from the broader community for the benefit of Epworth Hall. The Committee wants to do its very best at bringing a quality night of entertainment and fun for those longing for the company of SLI friends and acquaintances in Mid-Winter. Winter Survivors are welcome to contact any member of the committee to express an opinion or idea before February 16th. The Committee will be presenting plans for next year in their report to the SLI Board in one of its upcoming spring meetings before making any notable changes.
