S/Lake Institute Residents Passively Participate in Midnight Celebration

December 31, 2018: "10 ... 9 ... 8 ... 7 ... 6 ... 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ..."
January 1, 2019: At the stroke of Midnight, the New Years Balls of New York City and Buffalo, NY, hit their targets and the 7-minute fireworks show in Buffalo was on display at the old Electric Building in Roosevelt Square.

It was 46 degrees at the Institute and at the very stroke of Midnight and unbeknownst to most, the first big "Cha-BOOM" hit the air throughout the Silver Lake Institute. The timing was either an immense coincidence or an act of spectacular timing. The big "Cha-BOOM"s continued in a predictable rhythm for at least 5 full minutes. The pauses between each seemed equally professional and well timed, giving off a rather majestic air of celebration.

We wish we could give credit to those who presented such a professionally-sounding fireworks audio display in what was heard to be a 5 or 6 minute surprise celebration, but we simply don't know to whom we give credit. To those responsible, we will be happy to thank you in a feature photograph and story if you would like to share the story with us to what ever extent you choose to share it. 

The celebratory addition was very much appreciated by those who stayed up to welcome the opening minutes of 2019. This will be a year of many good times and experiences, one of which will be the upcoming Silver Lake Experience this August for 4 special days--August 8-11, 2019. These four days are in addition to the Institute's full schedule of summer events. Details will become available just a little later this month, and will be announced here when it is ready to be viewed in its correct and updated form.
