Day 4 of the 4-Day Storm has a Few Hours Remaining, to End at 2 pm Today

The Saturday-to-Sunday overnight brought what appears to be another inch, possibly two, in the mid-to-eastern sections of Wyoming County including Silver Lake. The National Weather Service made news during this 4-day Lake Effect event by helping us understand the basic difference between the mountains of "Southwestern Wyoming County" versus the basic lowlands of the rest of the County. One was measuring snow in feet while the other was easily measuring snow in just a few inches. Then, without warning, the NWS went back to using "Wyoming County" interchangeably with the County's southwestern corner which spoiled its reporting accuracy--at least for that reporting period of time.

Again today, as has been happening during most of the 4-day Lake Effect event, Silver Lake is looking at a ground cover of just a few inches while snowfall is occasional but minimal with little or no accumulation. By mid afternoon, most of it should be finished, leaving only Tuesday through Wednesday for the next snow event.

The current (9:06 a.m.) temperature at the South End of Silver Lake is 22F while the North End sits at 26F.
