Silver Lake Association Provides Inspirational Data on their Mission

Mark Emmerson, president of the Silver Lake Association (SLA), the  Silver Lake Cottage Owners Association since 1961, has been researching his organizations meeting minutes in an effort to write an accurate history of the Association.

"By organizing the archived files of the Silver Lake Association," Mark stated on the Association's website, "I was able to publish a story containing facts of the SLA history, collected from the notes and minutes of the SLA monthly meetings, a history that needed to be shared." An Organization of volunteers that Incorporated in 1961 for the purpose of cleaning up the pollution in Silver Lake at that time, is now a mainstay of this community.

SLA and it’s volunteers are involved with so much more then the Water Quality of Silver Lake which is, and always will be, the number one concern of this organization. They have been tirelessly protecting this beautiful resource of this community that was known as “Vacationland”.
The chapters start from the time of the Indians and first settlers to the present. Chapters will be added one at a time when they are available.  "Enjoy the reading and it is hoped that you will appreciate what this group of people have done for all these years for this community," concluded Emmerson.
