First 'Big' Snow Event of Season Culminates in a Wet and Whimpy Couple of Inches

The National Weather Service issued three different warning statements over the weekend to help people prepare for what sounded like a significant winter event. Warnings ranged from "a Lake Effect Snow Advisory" which zeroed in on Wyoming County, through "Lake Effect Snow Warning" and eventually landing on "a Special Weather Statement" again for Wyoming County, but in the higher regions.

As for the Institute, Lakeview Drive provided the most wintry scene at times because of the wind racing across the unobstructed water, but on the whole, the Institute faired well with a total of 2 to 3 inches total as opposed to the warnings of "2 to 3 inches per hour." Even church attendance at the local United Methodist Church seemed unaffected by what some called "just a regular winter day in Western New York."
