Pictured above is the farmost back of Epworth Hall with its several emergency exists. Drain pipes #1 and #2 take all of the water from the East side of the roof and attempt to drain it to the higher ground behind Epworth. This ultimately assures that it certainly will return to Epworth. The proposal is to extend the drains (#1 along the east wall southward to a point where the water would flow naturally downward and not back into the building). Drain #2 would travel along the south wall northward until a point where its natural flow would completely miss Epworth. The French Drain (#3) is designed to accommodate slow water seepage from the natural incline of the hill and drain it to the storm drain. It is not designed for a rush of water such as from the roof or a flash flood condition.
