Batavia man babysitting was charged with abusing 6-year-old after 4-year investigation

A four-year investigation by city of Batavia police has led to charges against a Vine Street man for sexually assaulting a child.
Ronald M. Washburn, 62, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse. Detective Jason Ivison said the charge came after an investigation that began in April 2018.
Washburn was arraigned and committed to Genesee County Jail with bail set at $5,000.
