Mount Morris Road Work will Last through August 15:
Culvert replacement will cause portion
of Route 63 to close this Monday 7/18

The New York State Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that Route 63 will close in both directions near the interchange with Interstate 390 at Exit 7 starting Monday. The closure is due to a culvert replacement as part of the ongoing project to enhance the interchange connecting the highway with Route 408 and I-390.

A detour will be posted using routes 20A, 36, and I-390. It’s anticipated Route 63 will reopen by Aug. 15. Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.

All construction activities are weather dependent. For real-time travel information, motorists should call 511 or visit www.511NY.org or the mobile site at m.511ny.org, New York State’s official traffic and travel information source. Follow New York State DOT on Twitter at @NYSDOT and @NYSDOTRochester.
