Within One Generation, Lakers transitioned from Tent Camping
to Cottages, Hotels, and Cafés
Hotels such as the Spencer House or Benderson's mostly on Wesley Ave.
As you may have guessed by now, Wesley Avenue was the business district of the facility and included food stores, novelty & snack stores, a book store, and a privately run (original) "post office." Today, the side of the U.S. Post Office is on Wesley Avenue, as is the SLI office and maintenance garage, but the rest of Wesley is all residential.
