Albion Bicyclist seriously injured in crash with tow truck
A man was seriously injured when he drove his bicycle into the side of a flatbed tow truck late Sunday night, village police said. Police were called to West Avenue and West Academy Street about 11;30 p.m. for a report that a man was down in the road and unresponsive.
He was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he was listed in guarded condition in intensive care. Police are not yet releasing his name.
An investigation revealed the man was traveling north on West Academy and failed to stop at the intersection. He drove into a tow truck towing a car. No charges have been filed and the driver is cooperating fully with the investigation, police said.
