A Wyoming County sheriff’s deputy was injured early Thursday morning while responding to a domestic incident. Deputy Steve Miller was southbound at 1:55 a.m. on Hermitage Road between Wilder and Wethersfield roads when he lost control of his patrol car in a storm, said Sheriff Gregory Rudolph.
Miller’s vehicle clipped a utility pole and struck another, Rudolph said. He was treated for a back injury at Wyoming County Community Hospital and released. Miller is a 29-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and is assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division as a forensic technician. He was filling in on the Patrol Division’s midnight shift.
The domestic incident was occurring in Arcade. The crash is being investigated by Capt. Erik Tamol.
