Woman charged with driving high on drugs with child in car
A Batavia woman faces a felony charge after she was seen forcing cars off the road and was found to be high on drugs with a child in the car, Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputies received reports that a car was on Dale Road driving erratically and forcing other cars off the road Friday.
Deputies saw the car as it entered the village and stopped it on North Main Street.
The driver, Tiffany M. Walter, 31, showed signs of impairment and had a 9-year-old in her car.
She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Sheriff’s Department, where a drug recognition expert determined she was high on a variety of drugs.
She was charged with aggravated DWI with a child in the car, a felony, driving while impaired by drugs, driving while impaired by a combined influence of drugs, reckless driving, consuming cannabis in a car, driver’s view obstructed and following too closely.
She is to appear Monday in Warsaw Town Court.
