Road rage results in felony
‘DWI with child in car’ charge
A woman faces charges, including felony DWI with a child in the car, after a road rage hit-and-run crash on Main Street in Strykersville last week, Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputy Austin Harding was called to a residence on Main Street to investigate a report of a hit-and-run crash about 5 p.m. June 5.
Harding was at the scene when the woman who was driving the car involved and who had allegeldy fled the area, returned on foot.
She had her child with her, Harding said.
Aubrie Colkitt, 40, of Strykersville was driving south on Main Street when she allegedly became involved in a road rage incident. She turned around in the road, hitting a parked car in a driveway.
Colkitt was determined to be intoxicated and had been driving with the child in the car, Harding said.
She was charged with felony aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law, DWI and endangering the welfare of a child.’
Colkitt is to appear at a later date in Sheldon Town Court.
