More charges have been filed against an Oakfield man accused of sexually assaulting a child, state police said.

Robert J. Ritchey, 58, was charged Wednesday with first-degree sexual abuse of a child under 13, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.

The charges relate to the same complaint filed April 5 that led to 11 charges against Ritchey.

Ritchey was first arrested April 11 after an investigation revealed he repeatedly sexually assaulted a child.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act against a child, a class B violent felony punishable by up to 25 years in state prison, three counts of forcible touching, three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The most serious charges, criminal sexual act, are punishable by up to 25 years in state prison.

State police did not say whether there was more than one victim. The charges relate to a victim who is less than 11 years old.

Ritchey remains in Genesee County Jail, where he has been since April 11.
