Batavia PD: Woman punched and kicked 9-year-old, forced him to watch child murder documentary

A city woman was charged June 15 after an investigation by city police and Genesee County Child Protective Services.
Brianna L. Way, 31, injured a 9-year-old child by punching and kicking him, said Detective Jason Ivison. She also allegedly shoved his head as punishment and forced him, a child, to watch a TV-MA child murder documentary called “The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez,” while telling the child it could be him.
Way was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, police said. She was released an her own recognizance and order of protection was issued.
