Traffic Stop in Perry: Speeding, Suspended License:

Roch. woman's car found to allegedly contain: 3/lbs. marijuana, 50 cookie/ brownie edibles mj-laced, $2500 cash


Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Rochester resident on several charges following an investigation by the Perry Police Department.

On June 17, 2022, at approximately 7:23p.m., Officer Spencer Kramell conducted a traffic stop at Kwik Fill located at 175 South Main Street for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Upon interacting with the suspect, 31-year-old Vanessa Lopez from Rochester, NY, Officer Kramell found Lopez’s NY license to be suspended.

Officer Kramell, with the assistance of Officer David Spink, conducted a search of Lopez’s vehicle and approximately 3 pounds of marijuana was allegedly discovered. Also allegedly found within the vehicle was approximately 50 cookies/brownies containing marijuana (edibles), marijuana seeds, approximately 2,500 dollars in cash, and other drug paraphernalia.

Lopez was transported to the Perry Police Department where she was further interviewed and processed. She is charged with criminal possession of cannabis 3rd/more than 16 ounces, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, unlicensed driver and speeding in a zone.

Lopez was released on her own recognizance per NYS Bail Reform laws and is to appear in Perry Village Court on 08/02/2022.
