Watch county notification for watch 259 National Weather Service Buffalo NY 621 PM EDT Sat May 21 2022 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of WYOMING COUNTY
Western and Central New York Northwest Pennsylvania Lake Erie * Effective this Saturday night and Sunday morning from 620 PM until 100 AM EDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Storms will continue to develop east-northeastward into and across western/central New York and northwest Pennsylvania this evening, with damaging winds and some hail as the primary hazards. Multiple rounds of storms could affect the region through late evening and early in the overnight. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40 statute miles north and south of a line from 10 miles west southwest of Jamestown NY to 35 miles north northeast of Elmira NY. REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
