Man charged with threatening woman with rifle next to children
A Batavia man was jailed after he allegedly displayed a rifle during a domestic dispute in front of children Sunday, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputies were called to a house on Batavia-Elba Townline Road about 3 p.m. for a report of a dispute that turned violent.
Tyrone N. Thigpen Sr., 44, of Summit Street is accused of pulling out a rifle in front of the victim and her two children during the argument.
Thigpen was charged with felony aggravated family offense, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.
He was arraigned in Town Court and committed to Genesee County Jail without bail.
