Victim was Punched Multiple Times in Face:

Man jailed after violent domestic

Sanchez-Sanquiche
A Batavia man remains in Genesee County Jail on charges that he attacked a woman who had an order of protection against him, city police said. The arrest came Jan. 30th when police were called for a report of a violent domestic situation.

Matthew J. Sanchez-Sanquiche, 25, allegedly entered a residence and punched the woman multiple times in the face and forcibly stole her cellular phone to prevent her from contacting police, [all of which] happened in front of several children, police said. The children also had orders of protection against Sanchez-Sanquiche.

Sanchez-Sanquiche was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree robbery, third-degree assault, felony criminal contempt of court and misdemeanor criminal contempt of court. He was arraigned in City Court and committed to jail, with bail set at $15,000. He is scheduled to return to court Wednesday.
