Second Significant Storm of 2022 Disrupts Schools in GLOW Region

A number of area school districts have already announced closings for Friday. The National Weather Service says additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are forecast through early Friday afternoon in Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, Wyoming, Monroe and Allegany counties. The winter storm warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. Friday. Travel could be very difficult, especially overnight. The hazardous conditions will affect the morning commute with the heaviest snow through 5 a.m., according to the Weather Service. Additional minor accumulations will be possible Friday morning and early afternoon.

Winter storm warnings continue until 1 p.m. Friday for Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties, among others. The persistent snowfall has led to some scheduling changes. They include:
- Albion Central School, all after school and evening activities are canceled for Thursday.
- Attica Central School, all after school and evening activities are canceled.
- Avon Central School, no evening activities.
- Dansville Central School, no after school or evening activities. Students will dismiss at 2:30 p.m. Extended day is canceled.
- Geneseo Central School, no evening activities.
- Kendall Central School, no evening activities.
- Keshequa Central School, closing at 1:30 p.m.
- Letchworth Central School, no evening activities.
- Lima Public Library, closed today.
- Livonia Central School, no evening activities.
- Medina Central School, no evening activities.
- Mount Morris Public Library, closing at 4 p.m.
- Pavilion Central School, no after school or evening activities.
- Perry Central School, evening activities are canceled, including inter-scholastic athletics practices and contests, high school musical practice and CYO basketball.
- Pioneer Central School, no afternoon or evening activities.
- Warsaw Central School, after school and evening activities canceled.
- York Central School, no after school or evening activities.
