List of Closings includes Meals on Wheels, Wyoming County:
Second Significant Storm of 2022 Disrupts Schools in GLOW Region

CLOSED FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2022

A number of area school districts have already announced closings for Friday. The National Weather Service says additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are forecast through early Friday afternoon in Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, Wyoming, Monroe and Allegany counties. The winter storm warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. Friday. Travel could be very difficult, especially overnight. The hazardous conditions will affect the morning commute with the heaviest snow through 5 a.m., according to the Weather Service. Additional minor accumulations will be possible Friday morning and early afternoon.

The list of closings includes:

  • Avon Central School
  • Batavia City Schools. The Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics of New York, scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday at the outside bus loop at John Kennedy Intermediate School, has been rescheduled for 3:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at the same location.
  • Byron-Bergen Central School
  • Caledonia-Mumford Central School
  • CASA-Trinity Clinics, all locations and all services closed with the exception of MAT appointments. CASA-Trinity has clinics in Dansville, Geneseo and Hornell, among other locations. Clients who find themselves in a moment of struggle should call or text (607) 378-7479.

  • Elba Central School
  • Genesee Country Christian School, Geneseo.
  • Genesee Valley BOCES, Mount Morris.

    Winter storm warnings continue until 1 p.m. Friday for Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties, among others. The persistent snowfall has led to some scheduling changes. They include:
    • Albion Central School, all after school and evening activities are canceled for Thursday. 
    • Attica Central School, all after school and evening activities are canceled. 
    •  Avon Central School, no evening activities. 
    • Dansville Central School, no after school or evening activities. Students will dismiss at 2:30 p.m. Extended day is canceled. 
    •  Geneseo Central School, no evening activities. 
    •  Kendall Central School, no evening activities. 
    •  Keshequa Central School, closing at 1:30 p.m. 
    •  Letchworth Central School, no evening activities. 
    •  Lima Public Library, closed today. 
    •  Livonia Central School, no evening activities. 
    •  Medina Central School, no evening activities. 
    •  Mount Morris Public Library, closing at 4 p.m. 
    •  Pavilion Central School, no after school or evening activities. 
    • Perry Central School, evening activities are canceled, including inter-scholastic athletics practices and contests, high school musical practice and CYO basketball. 
    •  Pioneer Central School, no afternoon or evening activities. 
    •  Warsaw Central School, after school and evening activities canceled. 
    •  York Central School, no after school or evening activities.
