7 TO 9 INCHES OF SNOW is now being forecast for the Thursday evening and Friday hours of snow fall.

WITH SMOKE FILLING THE HOUSE on Vine Street, the resident, with walker, is helped from home  by neighbor -- An older woman at 167 Vine St., Batavia, using a walker, was reportedly helped from her house while it was filling with smoke Tuesday evening by an identified female neighbor. The woman, whose name has not been released, was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation. [By Howard B. Owens, The Batavian]

FIRE RAVAGES WAYLAND -- A huge fire started in an upstairs apartment on 10 N. Main Street and quickly spread to the neighboring building. On Feb. 22 a fire started around 10:55 a.m. in one of the two apartments above a tattoo shop on 10 N. Main Street. Everyone was evacuated on time without any human casualties.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) -- An RFP has gone out for Clean Heating and Cooling Technology -- The Village of Perry is seeking to implement clean heating and cooling technology in the Village Hall located at 46 North Main Street Perry, NY 14530. The goal of the project is to conserve energy and reduce energy costs. The Village is seeking to install air-source or ground-source heat pumps, or a solar hot water system. Responses to this RFP are due no later than Noon on September 3, 2021.
