Silver Lake Institute is Planning a Great Summer:
Summer of 2022 Schedule of Public Events announced by Program Chair

Is it mandatory that the Chairperson of the SLI Program Committee attend all scheduled events for the SLI Summer Season? The answer is "no," but the current chairperson attends them all anyway! She's a believer in strong and dependable leadership, being present to welcome performers and guests, answer questions, and be sure everything is operating smoothly.

Current volunteer chairperson, Ms. Julie Hoffner is the third generation of Goulds to be faithful Silver Lakers at the Institute. Julie, her late husband, father and grandfather were each elected and served as Trustees. Julie is over halfway through her second decade of service with the Program Committee and serves as its Concert Host on Friday nights and for other guest speakers and events.

This year's Public Program Schedule is again being sponsored in part by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts and the Arts Council of Wyoming County. The grant alone is only part of the expense of bringing great programs to Silver Lake. Tax-Deductible gifts are always welcome. Such gifts give the Program Committee more to work with when attempting to engage new or more expensive talent.

This year's Friday concerts will again be staged at the Institute's "Big Blue Dock" which is diagonally across the street from the Hoag Gallery. The public is invited to bring their own comfortable lawn chair or blanket when coming to enjoy the concerts--this year at the new time of 7:00 pm. Since street dancing takes place on Lakeview Avenue, cars should avoid the Lakeview and Wesley Ave. intersection from 7 to 8 pm (during the concert)

The new concert start time of 7:00 pm also applies to the Saturday evening Coffee Houses held at the Stoody Memorial Hall location, corner of Embury and Park Avenues, just across Perry Ave. from Burt Park.

The complete summer schedule is always readily available in the LINKS found between the masthead (red rectangle with SLDN emblem/name) and the "Prime Notes" highlighter near the very beginning of this newsletter.
