COVID-19 Update: Area nears
1,850 active cases as Livingston
County shows a sharp increase

A wave of active COVID-19 cases continues to hit the GLOW region. A total of 1,839 active cases were reported Thursday in Genesee, Orleans, Wyoming and Livingston counties.

Livingston County in particular reported a significant increase over a five-day period. A total of 239 active cases were reported Monday — a number which had increased to 852 cases on Thursday, and 954 on Friday.

In Wyoming County, the high volume of COVID-19 case reports also exceeded the county and state’s contact tracing capacity to individually contact every county resident with a positive COVID-19 test result.
