Former M&T Bank Building on Oak Orchard Rd. Becomes Elba Town HallBy Brian Quinn - bquinn@batavianews.com
Mark Gutman/Daily News/ The town of Elba’s new home is on Oak Orchard Road.
Town of Elba officials used part of the holiday week to move their offices to a new location, but the first official day there is Wednesday, Town Clerk Trisha Werth said today.
“We are currently in the new office,” Werth said of the location at 7133 Oak Orchard Rd. “We took last week to move everything between the two offices and get settled in the office.”
The new location is a former M&T Bank building that still has an ATM available there. Werth, Town Supervisor Donna Hynes, and Town Assessor Barry Flansburg have moved from 7 Maple Ave. to the new location.
“We will also be holding all of our meetings here. That includes the Town Board, the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Planning Board,” Werth said. She added that the town's highway department will stay at the old location on Maple Avenue.
The town clerk’s hours at the new location will be the same as they were before: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday for most of the year and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday during tax season.
