Hatt allegedly choked victim and fought with police:
Alexander Man Unphased by His Recent Indictment--Gets Arrested
Again for Domestic Violence Friday

AARON M. HATT

An Alexander man was arrested Friday for domestic violence, just weeks after he was indicted for a series of crimes against the same woman, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said. The Deputies were called to FairBridge Inn and Suites on Federal Drive in Batavia late Friday night for a report of a “domestic disturbance.”

An investigation revealed Aaron M. Hatt, 25, had choked a woman and refused to let her leave, police said. Hatt then allegedly fought with police when they tried to take him into custody. The woman had a court order of protection against Hatt, who has repeatedly been arrested on charges of domestic violence in the past three years.

Hatt was charged with felony criminal contempt of court, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration. Hatt was arraigned in Town Court and committed to Genesee County Jail, with bail set at $5,000.

Hatt earlier in the month was indicted by a Genesee County grand jury on charges of two counts of second-degree burglary, felony criminal contempt of court, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated family offense and misdemeanor criminal contempt of court.

Hatt was arrested in April, May and again in July for repeated acts of violence and defying an order of protection.
