Annual WNY Maple School set for Wyoming County in Attica
The annual Western New York Maple School and Trade Show has been set for Dec. 4. The show will start at 9 a.m. at Attica High School at 3338 East Main St. Face masks will be required. A partial classroom instruction list includes:
■ Maple syrup production for beginners.
■ How sap moves in the tree.
■ Sanitizing and cleaning maple equipment.
■ Value added maple products.
■ Reverse osmosis for beginners.
■ Practical tubing installation.
The event is sponsored by the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming County, in conjunction with the Wyoming County Maple Producers Association and the Western New York Maple producers. It will be hosted by the Attica Central FFA.
New York state is one of the nation’s largest producers of maple sugar, maple syrup and related products. Vendors are also wanted for the event.
