NYS Police Charge Belfast Art Teacher with Inappropriate Touch, Comments
A public school art teacher in neighboring Allegany County faces multiple misdemeanor charges, accused by New York State Police investigators of inappropriate touching and making inappropriate comments while working “in a professional capacity.”
Amity-based State Police Monday charged Alex T. Minnick, 33, of Restof, N.Y., with two counts of forcible touching and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors. Until last week, Minnick was employed as a secondary-level art teacher at Belfast Central School.
Belfast School Superintendent Dr. Wendy S. Butler said the board of education accepted Minnick’s resignation at a special meeting November 12.
