GENESEE VSA DIRECTOR WILLIAM JOYCE gave his announcement yesterday about the new National Cemetery in Genesee County which opened last December. Mr. Joyce reported 638 burials since its opening less than nine months ago. It was clear that the number is significant on its face, evenso Mr. Joyce added that it is "The biggest thing to happen locally in the past year as far as veterans services" are concerned and confirms that the cemetery was indeed needed and wanted in Western New York.

DIDN'T BOTHER TO THINK TWICE -- An Oakfield man pleaded guilty to sending threatening messages to Erie County’s executive and was sentenced to community service Friday. Thomas E. Netter, 49, pleaded guilty to harassment, Buffalo area media reported. Netter was given a conditional discharge and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service. An order of protection was issued. The threats which Netter had placed on Facebook, had to do with Erie County’s COVID mandates.
