This Friday 15 October 2021:
Wyoming County sets COVID vaccination clinic

Registration is open for a community vaccination clinic on Friday. The clinic is set for 9 a.m. to noon at the Wyoming County Health Department on Mungers Mill Road. The clinic is open for Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson/Janssen, or booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Only for those who have received two doses of Pfizer more than six months ago are eligible for the booster.

The J&J vaccine is for anybody at least 18 years old. The Pfizer vaccine is for anybody at least 12 years old. Children less than 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian that can provide consent. It’s asked that people bring identification and proof of insurance.

At this time and in accordance with CDC guidance, the following groups of New Yorkers are recommended to receive their COVID-19 booster vaccine dose: 
■ New Yorkers 65 years and older or residents in long-term care settings, 
■ New Yorkers 50 to 64 years old with underlying medical conditions. Two other groups may receive doses including: 
■ New Yorkers 18 to 49 years old with underlying medical conditions, based on their individual benefits 
■ New Yorkers 18 to 64 years old who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting, based on their individual benefits and risks.
