News Briefs

The 4.5-foot Nile Lizard is still on the loose in the Attica area. It escaped its cage Monday and climbed up a tree 100 feet up, nevertheless, the lizard managed to escape capture several times in the last 48 hours.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced his intention to resign as NY Governor in 14 days at which point Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will be sworn in as New York's first female governor.

Brewers, distillers and craft beverage producers across the state are waiting for the governor to sign a bill into law to make it easier for the growing local businesses to get off the ground. If signed into law, the bill, sponsored by Sen. Michelle Hinchey, D-Saugerties, would require the State Liquor Authority to create a new temporary permit for breweries, distilleries, cideries and wineries.

Now that Andrew Cuomo has resigned, his brother Chris must be next. They are, after all, both guilty of gross ethics violations.
