The Shaders Are Year-Round SLI Residents:
Rosemary Shader, Executive Director Wyom. Community Action was Guest Speaker at Piecemakers' Wed. Meeting
(2016)

The Quilting and Knitting Clubs have been a strong, principle part of the Silver Lake Institute's outreach to the community, as it has donated its finest constructs to organizations that distribute to people and families in need. For years large donations were made to the Linus Project in Rochester.

This year the Quilting Club is planning to distribute their creations to families in need within their own Wyoming County through the Community Action section known as Angel Action. This is the same donation mechanism adopted by the Long Range Planning Team's Food Collection just a few short years ago when they placed the collection basket on the Stoody Hall porch.

Ms. Shader talked about the work of Angel Action and how the Quilting Club's work could be incorporated into filling needs within Wyoming County. No experience necessary--come on out Wednesday morning and serve the Institute and our county area in keeping kids warm! Come out and learn how you can help.
