A heat-intense day, Wednesday ends
in strong, cooling thunder showers

As preparations were taking place for the Wednesday Dessert on the Dock, volunteers noticed the dark gathering clouds pushing northward from the south of the Lake. Thunderstorms and flooding were in the forecast and so the decision was made to move the event into Hoag Gallery so as not to be caught in the rain.

Sure enough, just as folks had gathered into Hoag, the rain began to fall and within minutes it became a full fledged Thunderstorm.

This was the second Wednesday in a row that rain forced the social gathering indoors at Hoag. There were, however, no meaningful complaints since everyone was too busy in conversation and dessert-tasting. The rain brought in refreshing Lake breezes to ease the extreme heat of the day.
