Complaints Led to Traffic Stop:
Reckless Driver Faces Felony Charge after Police Traffic Stop in Warsaw

WARSAW — A Le Roy man is facing several charges after a complaint he was forcing other vehicles off the highway on July 9, Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies said.

Mathew W. Ianiro, 26, had reportedly entered the county on Route 19. Deputies intercepted him and allegedly observed him driving 74 mph in a 55 mph speed zone on Saltvale Road. Ianiro showed signs of impairment, deputies said. Open liquor bottles and concentrated cannabis were allegedly found in his vehicle. It was also determined that Ianiro had a conditional drivers license only, due to a 2020 conviction for driving while ability impaired by alcohol, deputies said.

Ianiro was charged with felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, DWI, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more, consumption of cannabis in a motor vehicle, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, speeding, and operating in violation of a conditional license. He was released on his own recognizance and is to appear July 26 in Town Court.
