Two significant sunset pictures

After increasing darkness in the very late afternoon, Silver Lake received heavy thundershowers less than two hours before sunset. It seemed as though we had lost the light of the sun for the day. But by 8:30 pm, the clouds in the west began to break and rays of the sun were released in the midst of heavy cloud cover. Reflections of the sun are still with us as we approach 9:00 pm.
