Stay Hydrated; Take Shady Breaks More Often:
Heat advisories to continue Tuesday in most of Western NY
The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories for Tuesday across Western New York where temperatures will once again feel as if they are approaching 100 degrees. The advisories will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Heat index values of 95 to 99 degrees are expected. The heat index is a measure of how the temperature feels. Hot temperatures combined with high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
Wyoming County, on the other hand, has not been singled out for any higher or lower amount of danger with Tuesday's temperatures. The Silver Lake High is forecast for 86°. However, humidity at 12:14 am Tuesday is listed as: Current=98.1%; High=98.1%; Low=97.5%. If those humidity rates remain that high, our high of 86 will feel considerably warmer (or should we say Hotter?).
