Chautauqua 2021 Season opens at 8:15 pm tonight with concert

Welcome to the 2021 Chautauqua Summer Assembly!

Today, Saturday, June 26, officially opens the 2021 Chautauqua Summer Assembly. It is a time to come back together as eager lifelong learners and patrons of the arts, reconnecting to the community and enjoying programs we love so much. Read on to discover a sampling of events taking place during our first week of the Chautauqua Assembly. Tonight's Opening Night Concert: Chris Thile 8:15 p.m. Saturday, June 26 • Amphitheater

MacArthur Fellow and Grammy Award-winning mandolinist, singer and songwriter Chris Thile returns to the Chautauqua Amphitheater to open the season with a solo evening of mandolin and song. Thile, whom The Guardian calls “that rare being: an all-round musician who can settle into any style, from bluegrass to classical” and NPR calls a “genre-defying musical genius,” is a founding member of the critically acclaimed bands Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek.
