Perry wins shootout over Holley in 
H. S. Football; Fanaro accounts for
8 touchdowns in Yellowjackets’ win

In a shootout for the ages, Perry overcame Holley, 78-48, behind a massive night from senior quarter-back Justice Fanarao.

The Yellowjackets signal caller finished the win 20 of 32 passing for 318 yards and seven touch-downs, while adding four carries for 71 yards and an additional score. Perry led, 50-34, at the half and sealed the deal with an explosive, 28-point third quarter.

In addition to Fanaro’s solid effort, senior running back Kellen Bell, senior wide receiver Cam Petrie, senior RB Dylan Conroy and sophomore WR Braeden Wolfanger each added a couple of touchdowns. Bell finished with 11 carries for 97 yards, Wolfanger totaled six receptions for 98 yards, Conroy made four catches for 65 yards and Petrie recorded four carries for 32 yards to go with five catches for 98 yards. Senior RB Riley Kowasz added five catches for 65 yards and a score.Wolfanger also recorded an 80-yard kick return for a touchdown.

Defensively for the Yellowjackets, senior defensive back Jake Moroz led the way with seven tackles, while freshman defensive lineman Andy Kelly made four tackles and came away with a fumble recovery. Senior linebacker Lucas Sears made five tackles, one of which came for a loss.

For Holley, senior Jake Affronti rushed for 256 yards and four touchdowns and threw for a score while totaling 65 passing yards. Junior Mason Neale recorded over 100 yards receiving for the Hawks.

Perry is now 3-1. Holley falls to 1-2.
