Away Game for Perry Football:
Perry Yields to Pembroke 42-6
The Pembroke seniors stole the show on ‘Senior Night,’ as the Dragons earned a 42-6 win over visiting Perry. Both teams entered Tuesday’s contest with one loss to their record, but Pembroke separated itself with the blowout victory and earned itself the two seed entering the 8-man football postseason.
“I’m so happy for our seniors to get a win on their night,” said Pembroke head coach Jamie Johnson. “They’ve put a lot of work in and deserved this win.... A home game for us is a help, so we don’t have to travel,” concluded Johnson. “Also, our seniors get one more game on their home field.” Official playoff seeding is to be released sometime on Wednesday.
Perry senior quarterback Justice Fanaro was held to 15 of 33 passing for just 187 yards and a single touchdown to go with an interception. Senior wide receiver Cam Petrie caught the Yellowjackets’ lone touchdown. Pembroke is now 5-1, while Perry falls to 4-2.
