Silver Lake Independent Fireworks Show back on the calendar for July 3
Silver Lake Fireworks Fund's annual show (SLFF) is scheduled to return on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10:00 pm. The display actually begins after the traditional flares, which are sold through the Silver Lake Association, die down. This makes it possible for those wishing to watch from the water to board boats and get to the north end.
The show had to be paused during the 2019 display when boaters entered inside the required 600-feet fallout zone for the fireworks. SLFF places its buoys in an arc at mid-lake to serve as "stay-behind-them" guides. SLFF is grateful to Silver Lake Golf Club (The Club) at Silver Lake for hosting the show as it has since 1999. If the State's limits for capacity are in place, please respect what this vital business has to offer for socially-distanced viewing. If you lease a slip at The Club, your boat and/or water craft must be removed before the start of the show.
The 2021 display cost including insurance is $7,000. Additional costs are for printing, advertising, permitting, postage, fire protection and site prep (if needed). Funds all go into the dedicated account at Tompkins Bank of Castile. Please send your donations made payable to Silver Lake Fireworks Fund and post-mail checks to: 7851 Rt. 39, Perry, NY 14530.
