  1. May he R.I.P. Question: Did he reside in SLI? Or does driving your boat entitle one to an obituary listing here? Asking for a friend.

    1. (1) When a family or even a good friend loses a loved one, and those who have been left behind are asked for a very brief summary of his or her life, our editorial staff believes that those memories that come to mind first and foremost are most clearly remembered by those who have experienced the memory with the loved one or heard his stories about it on a fairly regular basis. When a public obituary mentions a memory of Silver Lake (WNY), it is most likely not a once or twice event, but one in which the loved one has regularly participated and quite likely involved his family or at least one or more members of it.

      (2) Then there are the additional relationships developed here while at Silver Lake--a place in which it is relatively easy to make friends. Your question is a good one because the obituary is not allowed, cost-wise, to go into the type of detail which would answer most of our questions. The Editorial Staff operates on the first principle mentioned above (memorable and repetitious recall of fun times usually having to be recalled very succinctly). So we would answer your question, basically, as "yes," considering all that those words most likely have behind them. (policy follows)

      (3) SLDN accepts obituaries free of charge and without any requirement of having appeared anywhere else. A pre-printed obituary is acceptable copy since it was already authorized for publication. Request your funeral director send an email copy of the final services and life summary directly to SLDN@mail.com.
