Dustin Diamond Dead Just 3 Weeks After Learning he had Lung Cancer


The Saved By the Bell, 1990s sitcom star passed away Monday, February 1st, after a short battle with a very aggressive carcinoma lung cancer. Dustin was 44. "He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago," a representative for the actor shared in a public announcement. 
"In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution." Mr. Diamond was undergoing chemo therapy, but the carcinoma put an end to that. The energetic, comedic actor did not suffer for which his family and friends are grateful.

Dustin played Screech on Saved By the Bell for 13 years with Mario Lopez, Tiffani Thiessen and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, each of whom took to Instagram to honor his memory in three beautiful tributes.
