Head-on daylight crash leads to drugged-driving charge for woman
COVINGTON — A Pavilion woman faces drugged-driving charges after an investigation into a head-on crash on Old State Road Dec. 20, Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies said. Deputies were called to Old State Road about 3:30 p.m. for a report of a head-on crash with a report of one of the drivers trapped in their car.
Deputies found that two cars collided on a blind curve near Silver Lake Road. They were able to free the driver and both drivers were treated for injuries. Joanne K. Harper, 56, was driving east when she swerved into the westbound lane, deputies said. They also said that they found that Harper showed signs of intoxication or drug impairment so she was taken to Attica Police Department, where a certified drug recognition expert evaluated her.
