No New Year's Eve Crowds Allowed Tonight in NYS; Ball Drops in NYC, Buffalo, will be only virtual tonight

2020--2021
The New York City Police Department is making public service announce-ments throughout the day today telling residents and guests not to think that they will be able to just stand around in Times Square. NYPD says it isn't going to happen. Police are being ordered to keep anyone in Times Square moving along and out of the Square. Times Square will have some health care workers as its only invited guests. All persons are advised to watch the event on their television, computer, or phone screens.

Buffalo residents and guests are being advised through television public service announcements that New Year's Eve activities are cancelled with only the ball drop taking place virtually. Crowds will not be allowed to gather. WKBW Channel 7 in Buffalo NY alternates their coverage of the New York City (NYC) and Buffalo NY events on their platform which in past years began at 11:30 pm following the local news, weather and sports and over by 12:04 am. They broadcast over air, over Spectrum cable, streaming internet, and Frontier's old phone wire system.
