From "Mostly Sunny and Windy" last night to "Windy with Some Sun" this morning, the same forecasters will always claim they called it correctly. It was just us, he readers and hearers of the forecast that failed to listen to the updates and new forecasts. Why the fuss? I was looking forward to "mostly sunny" and now have to settle for mostly cloudy ("Some Sun"). Oh well, it could be worse ... we could be in a pandemic or something ... oh that's right--we are! My pen-pal in the Philippines has it worse. They have clouds, pandemic, poverty, AND considerable damage from the typhoon.
Thanksgiving is one week from today and we must remember to be thankful for the blessings we HAVE and not dwell on what we don't have. The old hymn encourages us to "count our many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done." Yes, you heard that right, I'm preaching to myself and thankful for some of those old hymns! "Come, ye thankful people come ... raise the song of harvest home."
