Thanksgiving meals for shut-ins and needy of the Silver Lake Community will be delivered to the HOMES of those who are being offered a Thanksgiving meal. The announcement is being made because the original publicity which was published and otherwise circulated had advertised that the meals needed to be picked up at Asbury's Koinonia Parking Lot. This is no longer true.
SLI residents began to volunteer to make the deliveries to the homes of those who had been named to receive a Thanksgiving meal and before long there was enough volunteers to make it a very reasonable project that these neighborly folks wanted to provide. The deliveries will be made this Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
The original goal was for 20 families to receive meals, but once again, donations made it possible to offer 30 families Thanksgiving meals. A large number of donations were received from out of state Silver Lake summer residents. When all the family members are counted, we will be preparing 84 meals, all made possible by Silver Lakers.
