News Briefs

56° and Sunny at 9:00 am Friday; and What about Thanksgiving Services?

The high for Friday will be 63°, Breezy and mild with times of clouds and sun; tonight's low will be 42° with the probability of Thunderstorms. Even though it feels cooler, the furnace has hardly been running. Please note that this is "Black Friday" so there may be commercial places that are busy today, although we certainly hope it will not provoke a super-spreader. Let's not create a Thanksgiving that will be regretted for a lifetime.

PAMA's Annual Community Thanksgiving Service is cancelled because of the corona virus. However, individual churches may choose to present a recorded service that will not cause people to "come out" another time but will help keep folks safely "in" while still giving thanks for our blessings. First U.M. Church in Perry (35 Covington St., diagonally opposite the bowling alley) is one of those churches presenting a recorded service Monday night at 7:00 p.m. The link will be carried here at approximately 8:30 pm Monday.

The Thanksgiving gathering for the Silver Lake Institute will NOT take place this year due to the dangers of the corona virus.
